The Setup

VCT 2026 Pacific Stage 2 kicked off July 16 and will run all the way through September 6, giving fans nearly two months of VALORANT from one of the game’s most competitive regions. According to Dot Esports, 12 Pacific league teams are split into two groups and working through a group stage before play-ins and a playoff bracket determine who walks away with the region’s two coveted spots at Champions Paris.

The group stage runs through August 9, with every match played in a single round-robin format as a best-of-three. After that, things open up considerably. Play-ins run from August 13 to 24 and use a 12-team double-elimination bracket that folds in four teams from the Pacific Regional Challengers alongside the eight group stage qualifiers. Playoffs follow immediately, from August 27 to September 6, with a double-elimination structure and best-of-five series reserved for the lower bracket final and grand final.

The Teams

The Pacific league’s full 12-team roster includes some of the most recognizable names in VALORANT. Gen.G Esports, DRX, Paper Rex, T1, and ZETA DIVISION are among the headliners, joined by DetonatioN FocusMe, FULL SENSE, Global Esports, Nongshim RedForce, Rex Regum Qeon, Team Secret, and VARREL.

Four Challenger teams will push for play-in spots starting August 13. Sharper Esports qualified from Challengers SEA Split 2. ONSIDE GAMING earned their berth out of Challengers Korea Split 2. Xipto Esports came through the Challengers 2026 Pacific LCQ. A fourth team, still to be determined, will qualify from the Challengers Japan Finals, as reported by Dot Esports.

Early Results

The first three days of competition gave fans plenty to talk about. On July 16, Gen.G opened with a clean 2-0 sweep of ZETA DIVISION, and VARREL upset Team Secret in a 2-1 series that went to map three on Summit. The following day, FULL SENSE topped Nongshim RedForce 2-1, and DRX handled DetonatioN FocusMe by the same score.

Saturday brought Rex Regum Qeon falling to Global Esports 0-2 in matches that stayed close, particularly on Summit where it went 14-16. The July 18 slate also features Paper Rex against T1, a match with serious implications for early group positioning.

Points and Stakes

The championship point structure adds a layer of ongoing stakes beyond just the Paris qualification spots. Teams earn one Championship Point per regular-season match win. Playoff placement then adds a larger chunk: first place earns eight points, second earns six, third earns five, and fourth earns four, per Dot Esports.

That means every single group stage win has value even for teams that feel confident about reaching playoffs. A team sitting on the playoff bubble heading into August could find themselves in a very different seeding position based on how the regular season finishes out.

The play-in bracket is worth watching closely too. The four Challenger teams arriving in mid-August are not there just to make up numbers. Regions like Korea and Southeast Asia have produced upsets before, and ONSIDE GAMING and Sharper Esports will be motivated to prove their scenes belong on the same stage as the full league franchises.

All of the action streams live on VCT Pacific’s official Twitch and YouTube channels. With Paris qualification on the table and championship points shaping regional standings, the matches between now and September 6 carry weight that goes well beyond any single series result.
