21 Video Game Lego Sets Retire July 31, Including Pac-Man and Deku Tree
A wide range of video game themed Lego sets are leaving shelves for good at the end of the month, with resale prices expected to climb once stock runs dry.
The Clock Is Ticking on Some Fan Favorites
If you have been meaning to grab that Pac-Man arcade machine or the towering Great Deku Tree from your wishlist, the window is closing fast. According to a report from Brick Fanatics, 21 video game themed Lego sets are scheduled to officially retire on July 31, 2026, joining a broader wave of more than 20 additional sets across Star Wars, Harry Potter, Technic, and other lines all leaving production at the same time.
Lego has listed some of the sets on its own Retiring Soon page, but as Brick Fanatics reported, the complete list includes several sets that are already out of stock on Lego’s website, meaning they may be harder to track down than they appear.
The Headliners Worth Acting On Now
Several of the departing sets are premium, adult-oriented builds that have become genuine display pieces for collectors. The Pac-Man Arcade (Icons set 10323), introduced in June 2023, is one of the most notable. The Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 from The Legend of Zelda line, released in September 2024, is another standout. Both are substantial, detailed builds that command real shelf presence and real resale premiums once they disappear from retail.
Mario collectors face a busier checklist. The Piranha Plant (set 71426, released November 2023) and the Super Mario World: Mario and Yoshi set (71438, released October 2024) are both on the retirement list, as is the Adventures with Interactive Lego Mario set.
A Long List of Mario Kart and More
Beyond those flagship sets, the retirement list sweeps through a long run of Mario Kart sets that were clearly designed to be collected together. Nine Mario Kart sets are retiring, ranging from the Yoshi Bike and Standard Kart to Bowser’s Castle (72039) and the Piranha Plant Power-Up Pursuit (72044). Rounding out the Mario universe, Captain Toad’s Camp, Party at Toad’s House, and Prince Florian and Castle Bowser are also going.
Outside of Nintendo’s franchises, three Animal Crossing sets are on the list: Leif’s Caravan and Garden Shop (77054), the Able Sisters Clothing Shop (77055), and Creative Houses: Seasons of Fun (77057). Sonic the Hedgehog fans lose Super Shadow vs. Biolizard (77003), and Minecraft collectors should take note of The Trial Chamber (21271).
What Retirement Actually Means for Your Wallet
When Lego retires a set, that’s it. The company stops making it, and once Lego’s own store and other retailers sell through their remaining inventory, the only place to find one is the secondary market. As VGC noted, prices on resale platforms like eBay for retired sets are usually significantly higher than what they cost at retail.
