“That super heavy, fast, lockstep rhythms and stuff like that,” he said in the video. “I was using a lot in that song ‘Orion.’ That is my favorite song of all time. I had that in my head. It’s just such a heavy riff, and there’s so much behind that song about why they wrote it, how they wrote it. I just love it.”

Orion is a purely instrumental track from Master of Puppets, which makes it an interesting choice for a voice actor. There are no lyrics to lean on, just tension and texture and a mid-section that opens up into something almost mournful before pulling back. For a battle-worn Leon carrying decades of trauma into one more fight, it is a more thoughtful reference point than it might first appear.

Apostolides talking openly about his craft tends to generate warmth from the fanbase, and this kind of granular detail about performance preparation is exactly what dedicated players want to hear.

Apostolides mentioned separately that Capcom cut what he considered his favorite line from Requiem before release, describing it as a corny one-liner. He did not specify what the line was, which is going to bother people in the best possible way.

It is a specific argument about who Leon is at each stage of his life, delivered through genre rather than dialogue.
